Our Needs - We need volunteer assistance and money.
Volunteers are needed to assist with....
1. Collecting eyeglasses in the United States.
2. Administration of the US office.
3. Traveling with the director of the Rural Eye Glass Project, Michael Coppinger, and assisting with
- Giving people the skills they need to sustain the project after we leave
- Photograph the project to provide documentation and images that will enable us to gain wider awareness of the need for our work
¬Ý Financial support is needed to pay for
1. Collecting or purchasing eyeglasses in the United States
2. Administration of the US office
3. Lens meters to read eyeglasses
4. Auto refractors
5. Shipping the supplies to the Sister City
6. On site expenses in the host country for an auto/driver/translator and housing while in the separate cities
7. Money for vision testing supplies
8. Tools and electrical cords
9. Tables for the auto refractors
- If you can speak Spanish, great. If you don't you can still help (and learn Spanish!)
- If you have knowledge about vision testing or operating the equipment, great.¬Ý If you don't, we will teach you.
- You must be 18 years or older.¬Ý High school age students must be accompanied by a legal guardian
